Aspirin is used to reduce fever and relieve mild to moderate pain from conditions such as muscle aches, toothaches, common cold, and headaches. It may also be used to reduce pain and swelling in conditions such as arthritis. Aspirin is known as a salicylate and a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID).

Drug Facts:

Purpose:

Pain reliever.

Uses:

Temporarily relief of minor aches and pains.

Warnings:

Reye’s Syndrome: Children and teenagers who have had or are recovering from chicken pox or flu-like symptoms should not use this product.

If changes in behavior or nausea and vomiting occur with this product, consult a doctor. These symptoms could be an early sign of Reye’s syndrome, a rare but serious illness.

Allergy Alert:

Asiprin may cause a severe allergic reaction which may include hives, shock, facial swelling, asthma or stomach bleeding. This product contains an NSAID, which can cause severe stomach bleeding. The chance of this is higher if you are over the age of sixty or have had past stomach ulcers or bleeding problems. There is also an increased risk if you take a blood thinner (anticoagulant), steroids, or other drugs containing prescription or nonprescription NSAIDS like aspirin or ibuprofin. Do not take more than directed.

Do not use if you are allergic to aspirin or any other pain reliever/fever reducer.

Ask a doctor before use if you have asthma. Stomach bleeding may occur if you have a history of stomach problems, have high blood pressure, heart disease, liver cirrhosis, kidney disease, or if you are taking a diuretic. Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use if you are taking a prescription drug for diabetes, gout, arthritis, or are receiving care for any other serious medical condition.

 

Stop use and ask a doctor if you experience any of the following signs of stomach bleeding:

-faintness.

-bloody or black stools.

-blood in vomit.

-stomach pain that does not improve.

-allergic reaction.

 

Seek medical help right away if:

-you have ringing in you ears or loss of hearing.

-pain gets worse or lasts for more that 10 days.

-fever gets worse or lasts for more than 3 days.

-you experience redness or swelling.

-new symptoms occur.

These could be signs of a serious condition.

 

If pregnant or breast-feeding, ask a health professional before use. Do not to use aspirin during the last three months of pregnancy unless specifically directed by a doctor.

 

Keep out of reach of children.

In case of overdose, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center (1 (800)-222-1222).

 

Directions:

-Drink a full glass of water with each dose.

-Adults and children12 years and over, take 4 to 8 tablets every 4 hours while symptoms last.

-Do not take more than 48 tablets in 24 hours unless directed by a doctor.

-Children under 12 years, ask a doctor.

 

Other information:

Store at room temperature, 15 -30 Celsius (59 -86 F). Read all product information before using.
